Full-LED headlight for the BMW 1 Series F20 (5-door) and F21 (3-door) LCI (facelift) — fitted from 03/2015 to 06/2019 on cars built with the factory LED headlight option (option code 5A2). The flat-bottomed hexagonal daytime-running-light rings are the visual signature of the facelift and set it apart from the round-ring pre-LCI xenon units and the halogen version. Low beam, high beam, DRL, position light and indicator are all LED, with a motorized headlamp levelling unit built in. The OE manufacturer is Hella (Germany), and the DRL ring is a separately available module, so a failed ring does not require replacing the whole lamp. Left and right are two independent parts with different part numbers: left 63117414143, right 63117414144 (63117414141/42 are equivalent genuine numbers for the same lamp). Installation notes
On a car factory-fitted with LED headlights (option 5A2) this is a direct replacement: disconnect the plug, remove the retaining screws, fit the new lamp, then have the beam height adjusted. Converting a halogen car is specialist work: connector pins must be changed, a K-CAN connection added, and the FEM, ICM and instrument cluster coded — the most common post-retrofit issue is an automatic levelling error. Have the conversion done by a German-car electrics specialist.
